Welcome to Mater Academy! We will be your child’s Career and Research teachers for the 2013-2014 school year. We would like to welcome you all to a new school year. We are both very excited to be here and eager to get the year started. This web page should serve as a great tool for your child's success in the classroom not just our Career and Research class. The tools you will find here will help them be successful students here at Mater Academy. We encourage you to help us by encouraging them to visit here frequently.
The purpose of this course is to enable students to explore careers and make more informed career choices. Through classroom activities, we intend to increase self-awareness and develop the skills needed to successfully plan for postsecondary education as well as prepare them for life experiences. They will have reading assignments in order to help strengthen their skills for the FCAT, as well as different projects and online tasks related to different career choices and opportunities.
We are here to encourage your children to be successful inside and outside of the classroom and to provide a fun and safe learning environment in order to meet our curricular goals. This will be a great year at Mater Academy and I appreciate your support.
